A Sunday DIY project – creating an industrial mirror! I’d originally bought the mirror on a trip to the New South Wales South Coast in a little homewares store, it was on sale due to one side of the hanging rope being broken! So instead of trying to fix the rope, I found an old brown belt, some split rings and a couple of leather studs and fashioned my own leather hanger for the mirror, which gives it a rustic industrial feel. I’m loving the end result and will need to find the perfect spot in our home for it! [Read more…]

“You share today the joy of a deep commitment and a sacred trust, and you have given each other the most precious gift of love”
It’s been a little quite on here lately… my creative soul has been pouring all of my crafty spirit into organising the most amazing party to celebrate our wonderful wedding day! Filled with love and laughter we celebrated the day surrounded by a small group of close family friends.
A few shots from our trip to New Zealand – Christchurch to Queenstown.
A little Sunday DIY project – sweet succulent re-potting! My wonderful Grandma has a collection of pots and trays, over-flowing with little green succulents. Today I pulled a few out of her tray and re-located them into a new tray in the hopes that they’ll multiply and I’ll have some beautiful little succulents for our wedding! I also used the little vintage sugar pot that I found last week to plant two baby succulents for my beautiful future sister-in-law. Can’t wait to see them grow and spread the love!
A few photos from Mother’s Day lunch with Harley’s family at The Grounds Of Alexandria in the cosy Atrium. Such a beautiful space to eat, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Vintage, rustic styling and design inspiration. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing mother’s! I’m blessed to have both a beautiful mother and a wonderful future mother-in-law!
A few moments in the second hand store last Saturday morning meant scoring these super cute vintage pieces! A little china teapot and sugar pot. The teapot is for my Mum to add to her tea collection and the little sugar pot is in for a quirky surprise gift for a friend. Some of the best finds are in the least obvious places.
A little Sunday DIY project – vintage soy candles! These candles are the perfect homemade gift for someone special with a beautiful creamy look and texture and can be flavoured with any scent that you choose. So sweet! After a trip to the local second hand store, I was inspired by my collection of vintage glass jars and tea cups to turn them into sweet smelling candles. After quick search on the internet I found out that the lovely girls at Lorna Jane had already discovered the beauty of homemade candles and had a step-by-step instruction blog, brilliant!
A little sweet Sunday cooking with my lovely fiancé, Raspberry Rose Meringue Tart. A gorgeous crispy tart filled with sweet raspberry and rosewater filling and topped with soft meringue, a perfect little indulgence during the Christmas break! I’ve changed it slightly from the original recipe, choosing to make one single tart instead of smaller individual tarts and making my pastry instead of using packaged pastry that the original recipe calls for. Base recipe from Taste.com and raspberry rose filling and meringue recipe from Delicious.
